Penannular Brooch, Hunterston, Scottish Cloak Pin
"Hunterston" penannular brooch, with exquisite Celtic interlacing detail. Just look how detailed this piece is! Truly a magnificent piece of skilled craftsmanship.
This piece is called the "Hunterston" as the design was inspired by an ancient Celtic brooch found near Hunterston on the west coast of Scotland. (The original is in the National Museum of Edinburgh). The size of brooch is 1-3/8 wide (34mm) x 1-1/4" (32mm) The pin is proportionally longer.
The decorative pin in fixed in place with a functional pin at the back of the brooch to fasten it to the garment. Hallmarked sterling silver.
