The design of this brooch is based on the Tara Brooch, which was discovered in 1850. It is considered one of the most important artifacts of early Christian-era Irish art and is displayed in the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin. The Tara Brooch is believed to have been crafted in the 8th century. The original piece is made of gold, silver, bronze, copper, amber, and glass and features intricate filigree patterns.

Our version of the Tara brooch is beautifully cast from sterling silver and secured with a straight pin and roll-over safety catch. It measures 1-1/4" (32mm) by 15/16" (25mm) and although small, has great detail.

A beautiful brooch for any occasion!
